Library of Congress Event on Mother Teresa , Holy Mass and Luncheon with Don Lush Gjergji of Kosova
As you may or may not know Don Lush Gjergji, a national icon among Albanians and well respected in other countries, is going to visit Washington DC and lecture at the Library of Congress on October 14, 2016 at 2pm (please see flyer attached). The lecture will be on the beloved Daughter of Albania, Don Lushi’s friend, and the newly canonized Saint of the World, St. Mother Teresa of Calcutta. He will also celebrate the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass in thanksgiving for Mother Teresa’s canonization the following day on October 15, 2016 at 11am at St. John the Beloved Catholic Church located at 6420 Linway Terrace, Mclean VA, 22101.
The Mass will be celebrated in the Albanian Language for the Albanian Saint, the first ever for this area and we encourage all to attend this historic Mass.
A luncheon will be served after the Mass celebration at St. John’s Parish Hall. RSVP is needed for the luncheon, due to limited capacity and accommodations. Please see the link for the Luncheon RSVP below
Father Lush Gjergji is a Roman Catholic priest in Kosova, where he was born. He was ordained in 1973, and his 1975 doctorate in psychology is from the Sapienza University of Rome. He has authored over 60 works on psychology and religion, as well as 16 books dedicated to the life, works and spirituality of Saint Teresa of Calcutta. He will discuss her life and works, as well as her Albanian origins. Don Lushi writes in Albanian, Italian and Croatian, and his works have been translated into English and several other languages.
